Earlier,I used to look for paintings in poems,now I have been trying to find poems in paintings, says the well known lyricist Sudhir Moghe who has been rediscovering his passion for expression though painting these days.
Earlier,I used to look for paintings in poems,now I have been trying to find poems in paintings, says the well known lyricist Sudhir Moghe who has been rediscovering his passion for expression though painting these days. Moghe’s exhibition of paintings titled Neerav Nishabda is on at Darpan Art Gallery near Patrakarnagar off S B Road till today. The exhibition that portrays,in his own words,Moghe’s ‘mind canvas’,features over 60 paintings in oil,acrylic and lines. He calls them Ranga Chitra rather than categorising them in the form of a particular medium.
Proving myself to anyone has never been my intent. That is why,the simplicity with which I wrote poems is the core emotion behind picking up a paint brush as well. Painting came to me as a surprise and I was pulled into it unknowingly. From exploring digital paintings to venturing into different mediums,what remained common was the expression of moods. Indian actor (1929–2021)
Shrikant Moghe (6 November 1929 - 6 March 2021) was an Indian film and theatre actor who has worked in several Hindi and Marathi films. He is better known as Bhaurao Deshmukh in Navri Mile Navryala (1984) and Dadasaheb Korde in Gammat Jammat (1987).
Career
[edit]Moghe was famous for his roles in Marathi films like Madhuchandra, Sinhaasan, Gammat Jammat, Umbaratha and Vasudev Balwant Phadke; and Marathi stage plays Varyavarchi Varaat, Tuze Aahe Tujapashi and Lekure Udand Jali.
Personal life
[edit]Shrikant Moghe grew up in Kirloskarwadi, near Sangli, in Maharashtra, India.[1] Shrikant Moghe's son Shantanu Moghe is also an actor, who played Shivaji I in Zee Marathi serial Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji[2] and father in law of actress Priya Marathe.[3] The late Poet-lyricist Sudhir Moghe (1939-2014) was his younger brother.[4]
Shrikant Moghe died in Pune in March 2021, at the age of 91.[1]
