Firoz Lalji
Chairman of the Board
Firoz Lalji is owner and Chairman of the Board of Zones, Inc., which he co-founded. Zones is a national provider of information technology products and solutions to businesses and the public sector. Lalji is also the owner of Fana Capital Corp., a real estate investment company operating in the United States and Canada. Lalji started his career in Canada in with the acquisition of an interest in Kits Cameras, Inc., a four-store camera chain in Vancouver, British Columbia, which he leveraged to stores in Canada and the U.S. He moved to the U.S. in , sold Kits Cameras in and has been active with Zones and Fana since then.
Lalji was born in Uganda and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics in He attended Harvard Business School for an OPM program from to Lalji is an advisory board member of US Bank of Washington, London School of Economics, University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. Lalji supports the United Way and other charitable organizations through the Firoz and Najma Lalji Foundation.

Meet the Founders
As in that most iconic symbol of American collaboration, the barn-raising, many in the larger Foster School community contributed to the construction of Founders Hall. But none more so than a cohort of leadership donors—both individuals and institutions—who stepped up to provide significant financial support that enabled construction of this exceptional final piece of Foster’s world-class campus, built at a cost of $79 million.

Chuck Barbo grew up in Seattle and earned a degree in history in from the University of Washington, where he was a Husky rower. He later graduated from the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Linda Knutzen Barbo was born and raised on her family’s farm in Washington’s Skagit Valley. She also graduated from the UW in , with a degree in home economics education.
The couple met on campus, married soon after graduation and, during many happy decades together, raised three daughters who blessed them with nine grandchildren.
